It is very important to make sure the camera is maintained in a proper way - to avoid malfunction of the hardware.
Let's start with the cleaning:
The camera has to be cleaned after each dive - especially in salt water.
You should take a bucket of warm, fresh water (for the salt to dissolve fully), and work the selector ring and activation switch for couple of minutes while submerged.
If you can sense some grains of sand inside the activation switch or selector ring - the parts can be removed - but please contact Customer Support first for instructions!
Note: If you do not have a possibility to clean the camera right away, make sure to keep it wet - so the salt doesn't have a chance to crystallize.
!It is very important not to use any chemicals/cleaning products with the camera, as it might damage the components!
Maintenance of o-rings:
This part is luckily - very easy!
The most important to pay attention to, is that the o-rings are always shiny, clean (with no debris, hair or dust on!) and have no scratches or breaks.
If you can see that the o-rings could use some of the grease, put a very thin layer on.
You can find more details in this blog.
Storing your camera for a longer time without use:
Some of you might not use the camera daily, but only when you go for a special, diving trip.
If that is the case - make sure to charge the camera fully, once a month - just to keep the battery safe.
Once you are ready to use your camera again - make sure that you have the newest firmware on and you are ready to go!
