I've tried my Android Note 4 "no download link at all", I've tried Firefox, Chrome, and IE and none will download your firmware... there is a brief pause as it accesses your site then blinks and nothing... nothing is in my download directory where it would go and upon search nothing is found.

I have version 1.21 and many features I'm missing.. this is quite frustrating when you don't provide a phone number and no support.....

looks like you fixed your link, however I just downloaded the firmware... its version 1.29 instead of the 1.3.0 thats on your site?

Are you having trouble with 1.3.0?

Just downloaded and upgraded firmware on my camera. It is 1.2.9 version. Do you have 1.3.0 version ready for download?

I am afraid that the link still does not work for me (V1.3). I am using a windows 10 pc with Firefox browser. I hoping that you'll fix the link after the holidays. Thanks

I managed to update firmware by using iPhone app. This way correct 1.3.0 version is applied. However, I just had two dives with this new firmware and both times my camera had issues.

Half way through my first dive, when I started to record video, the camera froze and continuously buzzed until I forcefully shut it down. I started it again and continued to take videos and photos with no issues. This dive has been saved as two separate dives which I was expecting to happen.

My second dive videos and pictures I took are missing from the dive registered on the camera. I can't even download that dive to my iOS app since there are no media to select and therefore "download" button is greyed out.

I'm just hoping that once I come home from this trip and I plug my SD card into the computer that I'll be able to find those lost media files. I had a lifetime opportunity to record and take some rare snapshots of huge turtles.

    I'm disappointed with this update.

P.S. My SD card is the one you're recommending

Sounds like they are not addressing the issue with us and simply allowing us to be beta testers at our expense rather than removing the bad 1.3 firmware from the site, so far I'm not impressed with support concerning this camera. Spending thousands on a trip and taking off work to save as video is not a beta experience it needs to be right!

I cannot download your firmware update and my camera will not save any videos or jpegs. I am at the start of a 3 week dive trip and I will have no videos of it all. when I return I will be returning this camera to you for a refund. this is ridiculous

Just an update on my trip with this new firmware. It's impossible to download all media even in low res with this new firmware. Download progress goes to about 10 to 50 percent and then camera disconnects from my iPhone and once I reconnect it again its all over again from the fresh start.

Is it possible you are running out of memory space on your iPhone if you are trying to download to the phone?

The best solution I have found so far is to download to an external hard drive using a computer or simply uploading to my YouTube account is there you can view them in their full Glory resolution and frame-rate without need for a expensive Graphics capable computer. You might try to just download one file that's not too big and see if that is successful if so you are having a memory issue with your phone I'm guessing

No, the problem is not space on my iPhone, I have over 50 GB free. Wireless connection with the camera gets down very frequently. I tried it on my iPhone, my iPad, and my Wife's iPhone. The connection is constantly interrupted and you have to reconnect it again. Since downloading photos and videos takes extremely long time (about 20 min for 700 MB) during those 20 minutes, I would lose connection at least twice for every dive log I try to download.

And I couldn't find any media for one of my dives I wrote about in above post.

Since 1.3, when I try to update the firmware, I get an SD Error message.  I thought it was a bad card, so I got a new one, same thing.  If I reformat the card and insert into the camera, I am good.  If I use either this download and insert, or the app to update, I get an SD Error message and have to reformat and start again. Is there a way to download just 1.2.9 or get help with this?

    Try this link, Roland.

    https://legacy.paralenz.com/firmware/

I have managed to download 1.2.9 & now keep as a spare copy (just in case I need to reload the formware).

Still not.  Getting the same "SD-Card Error" Message.  Very frustrating.  I am still running 1.2.1.  I wonder if there is an incremental upgrade that is required?  Is anyone else having this issue?

Are you trying while the mini SD is in the camera?
I take it out and put it in a media reader in my laptop, all works flawless for downloading video off the SD "if this is what you're talking about".

As far as firmware, I download it with my laptop then copy it to the SD root directory "not a subdirectory", then put SD back in camera and firmware installs fine.

Make sure your read only switch is not getting moved on your SD, I've seen them malfunction too.
Try another SD, you shouldn't need a high speed SD just to install firmware

    Hi Roland,

I have experienced problems installing the frimware in the past and Paralenz sent me the following. The standard method didn't work initially and so I tried the process after step 5. I had to re-insert teh ememory card twice, but it worked for me. Fingers' crossed.

Please follow Instructions below to install the firmware successfully:
    1. Download the latest firmware for your camera on this page.
    2. Copy the file firmware.bin onto a empty SD-card (Not in a folder)
    3. Make sure the battery has at least 70% power left. This is essential. You risk breaking your camera if this is not followed. – Unplug the camera from the charger before checking the power percentage.
    4. Turn off the camera. Insert the SD-card into the slot
    5. Turn the camera on until you see the logo and wait for it to turn off automatically. (The camera is now downloading the new firmware)

If the camera does not start installing the firmware . Please try this method:
    * Turn on the camera without the SD-card.
    * Insert the SD to the camera. If it displays "Updating" go to step 6.
    * If the SD-card is not registered try removing it and inserting it again. (Multiple times if needed)

    6. Turn the camera on again and wait for it to turn off automatically
(The camera is now installing the firmware)
    7. The camera is now ready with the newest firmware installed. The firmware.bin file will no longer be visible on the SD-card after the installation.

Note: Make sure the firmware file is named firmware.bin and not firmware(1).bin. Otherwise the camera cannot read the file.

I too had trouble with the update, I could not get it to upload to the camera as it always indicated no card.

I tried all sorts of methods, in the end, I tried a U1 card which worked and it uploaded the file.

I then inserted the recommended card and it all works perfectly.

So this may help those who are having trouble with the recommended card

    Mine was a 128GB U3 V30, and the card that worked was a 64GB U1.

    My 128gb sandisk works perfectly.
An email from them suggest a 256gb may work too but not verified yet.

I had beautiful vids & pics done with on the dive today.

came home & connected my  Ultra 64GB microSD XC i class10 card to my PC to download them.

Lo & behold  nothing. not even a single pic/vid.

My camera firmware version is 1.2.6. All data was saved when they were clicked underwater with no error showing or the camera freezing.

Can anyone from the support team throw some light on how do I get them??

today was important dive & i really need to have the pics/vids

    fingers crossed

    Mohit,

I had exactly the same proble. The camera indictaed that it was saving the vid & pics, when in fact it actually was not. I too was also using version 1.2.6. I fear that you may have lost your vid & pics, as I did. The solution is to upgrade to version 1.2.9 (which is where I am now - am not confident in v1.3.0, yet). I have yet to use 1.2.9 underwater, but have walked around on land filming, and it appears to be fine, now.

Update on 1.3, I dud get more crashes today.. Simply freezes and requires a restart by long pressing the on switch X 10 seconds to free the camera.
Happened 3 times in 2 hours of diving.
Once while in snap mode, and twice while in video mode.

Thanks for the update. I think that I will hold off installing 1.3.0 until the next release.

Note to Paralenz; it would be really helpful if you could tell us what each release provides in terms of bug fixes, etc. & any known issues with that release (as there will almost certainly be some). This way, we can then determine whether we want to apply the upgrade.

    Thanks

Ok, more edit, yesterday was better, no crashes. Two things... I think you just have to make sure when you change the selector "while on" , give it a couple seconds afterwards before you turn on that feature whether it be still shots or video.
Also, when you turn on video, makes sure afterwards you see the "recording" with flashing with window during the video.

I also witnessed a beam of light from another diver which looked pink.

My dive master had a flaming florescent red cap, when viewing the video it had some pink added.

A friend with a 5k setup viewed my pics and videos and was quite impressed, his only argument was colors were not real.

Truth is, Hollywood film is not real either, nor are most of the nature movies you see, greens, blues, reds, generally color saturation is inhanced, so is the paralenz.
It's looks so great! Almost too great if compared to real.
But it does make for eye-popping video similiar to professional.

My argument is bombarding the scene with artificial light is not natural either real to life.

We all know what looks good though, crisp resolution and eye popping colors!

They can however still work on reds a bit better as well as white light from flashlights sometimes being interpreted as pink.

Fix just those two items, and the whole diving community will not be able to resist this purchase.

Until then, the paralenz can't be touched in viewing color quality under $1k.

@Paul Budd Bug fixes and new features are listed in the top of this section. We will continuously keep adjusting and perfecting the firmware, and will update download link and post changelogs here when we release new firmware updates.

@Windstrings We have been fine-tuning the DCC for some while now - specifically the red tones when using DCC in blue water and have great results. This will probably already be implemented in one the next firmware updates.

    Windstrings,

Just read your latest comments. Sorry to hear about your vid & pics. While I have tested 1.2.9 thoroughly yet, (fingers' crossed) - I'll be doing that in about 6 weeks' time, it does seem to be ok. The problem that you describe was the issue that I had with 1.2.1 (and less so with 1.2.6). I totally agree with you, that this bug is one that Paralenz needs to prioritise to fix, the screen MUST provide accurate information to what the camera is doing.
